Picked not as a statement of our present world situation, although this collection of 9 portraits of those who shaped our World in War does offer sharp guidance for what is going on.

Nor because of its super fresh insights into some of our best loved and most hated.

And certainly not because it is filled with hints and tips which could be applied in theory to the more ruthless end of the business, and well January is the month that we as a nation help enrich self help guru’s. 

Instead pick up a copy and devour for its inviting, almost creamy prose. 

The antithesis of the usual sleep inviting trad history paperweight.
